Fields of applications

Queries on alternative elements are relevant for:

• % from Total calculations
• Refer on P&L planning values in a balance sheet planning
• Refer on Top Level planning values on a bottom level
• and many more

How to execute queries on "Alternative elements"

Use the following 2 parameters to define queries on "Alternative elements" of the dimension tree (DIM001):

• data1_CELLS01_DIM001_Alternative
• data1_CELLS01_DIM001_Alternative_Read_Attribute

Define the parameters either in a vertical or in a horicontal named range format:

Please be aware that the definitions are only active in those rows or columns with valid element names in the data1_CELLS01_DIM001_Alternative parameter. In all other cases the query will be executed on the regular DIM001 element that was selected in the dimension tree.

Furthermore be aware that rows or colums with active data1_CELLS01_DIM001_Alternative definitions are READ ONLY, write back is not possible on alternative elements.
